Greetings, Everyone,
We’ve been away from the U.S. for two weeks now…and have two more weeks at The Lion of Judah until we return home.
There’s a huge amount of stuff going on over here, and we are staying very busy even though we don’t have a team with us this year. In fact, several times we’ve wondered how we’d be getting by if we had a team, there’s been so much else to do.
For instance: Samuel Masanagulilo and his wife have been our head dorm parents since we opened our first dorm with only a handful of kids, back in 2002. He is a trained and experienced pastor, but they gave that up to come to Lion of Judah Academy, where they have been an indispensable part of our school family for 25 years now. They are school fixtures. Well, Samuel is old, and becoming more and more weak. While Mama Masanagulilo continues as head dorm parent, he is unable to work and living in the dorm is very stressful for him. They have been building a home directly adjacent to the school, working on it for years now…but it is still not completed. We — the school leadership — have decided to complete the home for them so they can move in. He will have a comfortable place to live out his life, and she will be close enough to continue her work. They truly are living saints (if you might be interested in supporting this project see the end of this message)
That’s just one of the many things going on. There are three major projects all related to helping the school become more self-sufficient: #1 — we are building a child care center, which will be a for profit ministry of the school, right on school property; #2 — the alumni T-shirt embroidery business has launched, and is already very busy; #3 — an innovative spin off from the vocational training center, a “remote driving school,” has been implemented and has proven so successful they had to cut off enrollment, and are already planning a second term. The idea is they take the ‘driving school’ to other areas which have no driver training opportunities, and run the schools in those areas, instead of expecting the students to come to the school here on the campus. They are offering government certified training driving busses, trucks, equipment, and other certifications. I don’t know who came up with the idea, but if the first class is any indication, this should be a huge success.
God is continuing to bless wonderfully!
And those are just some of the things going on. Lynn is in the middle of her project related to feminine hygiene, working with the older girls. And there’s quite a bit of ‘stuff’ we haven’t even gotten to yet!
Please pray for us. We are healthy and well (Hart is fully recovered and back to normal) — “thank you, Jesus!!” Just wonderfully busy.

Not only did every student pass, but also:40 students received the very highest — Division 121 students received Division 28 students received Division 3These are outstanding scores and we all rejoice with their accomplishments as we give Glory to God. Work Team #1 Hart and Lynn will be going to The Lion of Judah Academy this summer from July 11 to August 12. You are invited to come with us for the whole month or just part of it. Lots of room! It will be led by Linda Rentschler (lrentschler@humanitariansocialinnovations.com) with Hart and Lynn. It will be the beginning of October for 2-2.5 weeks. We will be meeting in Kilimanjaro, going to Zanzibar for sightseeing, traveling on to Mbea in Southern Tanzania to see Mercy World Organization, then ending at The Lion of Judah Academy for about 1 week. $600 non-refundable fee is expected when you sign up. Prayer Requests – God is so Faithful! Form 6 is taking their National Exams this week.
