Prayer Request from Nina Bruneau
Dear friends: On August 10, 2026, a devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, leaving hundreds dead, thousands injured, and communities in urgent need. Mesa Global is working alongside trusted church and ministry partners in some of the hardest-hit areas to provide immediate relief and support recovery efforts.
*Pray for victims of the earthquake and their loved ones as they work to rebuild their lives amid unimaginable grief
*Pray for safety and protection for first responders and local organizations providing aid to those affected by the earthquake
*Pray that the local church would be able to share the love of Christ in tangible ways during this crisis

Mutual Encouragement Last month I had the privilege of visiting Sincelejo, Colombia to celebrate 80 years of an incredible church movement. The outdoor auditorium was full every day, energized by the passionate worship of the 1,200 movement pastors in attendance.  This movement, the Association of Evangelical Churches of the Caribbean (AIEC), grew from work begun by the Latin America Mission, now part of Mesa Global. AIEC started with one goal: that everyone in the area would hear the gospel at least once. As one historical exhibit put it: “They understood that the gospel isn’t just proclaimed with words, but also with works of mercy.” Over time through this holistic outreach, God granted amazing growth!The AIEC warmly embraces our shared history and invited Mesa Global to have a special role in this celebration so that we could encourage them. They encouraged us! Sometimes our gospel work is slow and results aren’t always apparent. Yet sometimes the seed that is planted grows to yield unimaginable fruit. Travelling to different global locations, I often think of the Apostle Paul: “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong—that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith” (Romans 1:11-12). May you be encouraged as you participate in God’s mission by what he is doing, and will do, around the globe! Praises:
*For His wonderful provision through many of you, which allowed 10 Colombian leaders to participate in our very first Instructor Formation Institute (IFI 1) in Colombia.
Prayer Requests:
August 8: Pray for the Leading Recreation with Purpose Workshop.
We have 200 people registered. Pray that we see God’s hand backing this mega-training event in a remote area of Colombia.
Pray for Robert as he seeks treatment for the lumbar and cervical pain that has been bothering him.
Pray for Nina’s mother, Mrs. Olaya, who has been experiencing cardiac arrhythmias, asking God for healing and strength.
Pray for God’s continued financial provision for our monthly support.
Pray for our leadership training projects throughout Colombia, that God would continue raising up servant-hearted leaders who will faithfully impact future generations.
