Sherman Church Health Team
We’d like to introduce you to the Sherman Church Health Team, an ad hoc committee of the Sherman Church created to address the unique needs posed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Our role is an advisory role based on our mission to monitor and assess how best to respond to changing circumstances created by the virus. We make recommendations of suitable actions for our Deacons and Church Council to decide upon. Our hope is to ensure that our church family is taken care of, even when we cannot physically meet, worship, study and pray together.
As a congregation, we aim to provide support to every church member in the form of 1) contact with a caring member of your church family, 2) help acquiring food or medicine and 3) updates from the town as well as Sherman Social Services.
Love and Prayers: Each member of our church family who wants one will have a contact person who will be checking in on them during this time. Your contact person can pray for you, chat regularly or weekly, and just touch base. We also have people regularly meeting in prayer as well. We want to remain connected with you during this time of isolation.
Food: Many grocery stores now have delivery or curb-side pick-up. Your Sherman Church Health Team can help you make arrangements for ordering and delivery. Call the church office at 860-354-6114, email firstname.lastname@example.org if you need help, or speak with your Health Team contact person.
Medications: If you need medications picked up, your Sherman Church Health Team can help you with that as well. Call the church office at 860-354-6114 or speak with your Health Team contact person.
Church Services: Although we won’t be gathering physically to worship together for now, we have many options to gather by computer or phone. Our weekly service is being posted to our website, and can also be found on YouTube and Facebook. We are also continuing our Bible study and other small groups. We’re just doing it online for now. So, please ask. We can get you connected to any of these opportunities to study and worship together.
