Greeters, Readers, Ushers, Acolytes, Coffee Hour and Flower Assignments: these typical duties are handled by our Board of Deacons — the ministry of worship helps us keep attentive to God’s Word.
Minister of Music and Choir: we have been blessed to have a long-time Minister of Music who handles all worship services prayerfully, directs and instructs the choir, and plans special events for Lent, Advent and other important dates in the life of the Church.
Bible Studies: the Board and the Pastor run a variety of discipleship, leadership and mentoring studies.
Flower Committee: indoor and outdoor floral arrangements are taken care of weekly and for special events. Come see the beauty of Easter and Christmas at the Sherman Church!
Book of Remembrance: this special ministry takes care of the floral grounds outside and the sanctuary space by offering memorials and honorary booklets and events during the year. Our beautiful stained glass windows and special seating are all due to this special ministry.
Advent Season: special readings, advent candles, family time, and the Glory of God in the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ are all part of this wonderful time in the life of the Church.
Lenten Season: special readings, Lenten luncheon and video series, often a special contata are part of this solemn holy season.
Communion: monthly confession and partaking of the body and blood of our Savior.
Congregational Care: we reach out in Christian love to help with joys, sorrow and conflict. Sunday prayer after worship in the prayer room.
